After years as a successful trial attorney, Karen became a full-time mother before launching her career as a comedienne and writer. Born in Athens, Georgia, her southern accent is somewhat of an anomaly in Maine, where she now resides. Karen’s performance conveys her wisdom as a mother and her wit as a trial lawyer.

Just months after beginning her comedy career, Karen made her national television debut on Nickelodeon TV’s one-hour comedy special. Since then she has appeared regularly on television, radio and in comedy clubs and theatres nationwide. As a corporate speaker and author, audiences applaud Karen’s sharp, clean and hilarious views on life.

Television

Selected as one of seven finalists from 1,000 entries to appear on Nickelodeon TV’s Search for the Funniest Mom in America, Karen appeared in two seasons of SFMA at the beginning of her comedy career. Since then, she has appeared regularly on television, including her humorous parenting segment, You Gotta Be Kidding Me, which can be seen on WCSH Channel 6’s 207 show.

Radio

Karen’s radio spot, The Mother Lode, can be heard each week on The Coast Morning Show 93.1 FM, where she brings laughter to morning commuters and radio listeners. She also appears on other radio stations around the country, including a one-hour comedy special with Mama's Night Out on Sirius satellite radio.

Theaters

Very early in her comedy career, Karen made the lofty jump from comedy clubs to theater performances — and audiences could not be happier. Whether performing in a one-woman show or with a troupe of hilarious colleagues, Karen’s style of comedy is particularly suited for theater audiences who seek a clean and clever show.

Books

Karen’s book, You Might Be A Mama (© 2006, PER Publishing), is a hit! Available in bookstores, online, in gift stores or after all of Karen's shows, this book is a jovial nod to motherhood inspired by fellow southerner Jeff Foxworthy. Her next book, tentatively entitled My Grandmama Has Lost Her Mind, is due out next year.
